Copper Blackening

Blackening is a chemical process whereby the copper turns black in colour.  Blackening of copper is used for appearance as well as to minimize light reflection making it more effective.

For a more unique look, we brush the sheets once blackened thus creating an exquisite black and raw copper effect which is ideal for architectural profiles and sheeting.

The final stage of this process involves coating the profile or sheet metal with either a lacquer or clear powder coating which aids in corrosion resistance, giving metal additional wear.

Products best suited for this finish:

  • Decorative Sheeting used as architectural accents and building facades.
  • Staircases and handrails.
  • Kick plates and push plates.
  • Engraved push and pull plates for doors.
  • Kitchen splash backs.
  • Pillar wraps.
